CVE-2026-76358

MEDIUM 6.5

Published 2026-08-19 · Last modified 2026-08-20

In Splunk SOAR versions below 8.6.0, a user with app-install privileges could use path traversal during app installation to write files outside the intended temporary directory. The vulnerability is a path traversal in the archive extraction routine, which does not validate that extracted file paths stay within the intended destination directory. Weakness (CWE)

  • CWE-22: The software uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the software does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory.
