CVE-2026-62439
HIGH 7 PoC AVAILABLEA flaw was found in GIMP. An integer overflow occurs in the file-pvr plug-in when calculating memory buffer sizes for image dimensions. By tricking a user into opening or previewing a specially crafted PowerVR (.pvr) file, an attacker can trigger a heap-based buffer overflow, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or a Denial of Service (DoS) via an application crash.
Public exploit or PoC code exists. Modeled probability is still low, but the barrier to attack is reduced — watch closely.

What an attacker needs
- ⚠Access: Requires local access to the host
- ✓Privileges: No account or privileges required
- ⚠User interaction: A user must take an action (click / open a file)
- ⚠Complexity: Needs a race window or specific setup
